I wouldn't eat these on a dare. They're the nastiest and ugliest I've experienced.

These are a group that hatched here locally. They were 11 ducklings that managed to all survive until adulthood, unlike the white, yellow, and others who suffered HUGE losses from day to day. They all hung together that first year, and were an awesome sight when they all flew down this arm of the lake, backpedalling their wings to settle onto the surface.

Too bad this guy wasn't around for Thanksgiving? I love the wake he leaves in the water! HonK! Although UGLY, he and it is a rather beautiful picture!

Local? So you can tell them apart? the visiting ones, the westeners, ones from Mississippi? My humor sometimes gets me in trouble, most of the time thou I'm smack dead on!
